Western Cowboy Artist L.C. Herst masterfully creates images of the Southwest which include Cowgirl and Cowboy Art, American Indian Art, Horse Art and breathtaking Southwest Landscape Paintings.
L.C. finds inspiration in creating original oil paintings in contemporary and traditional Western Art using rich, bold color and vibrant compositions.
Spending time on ranches, working alongside Cowboys, herding cattle,
barrel racing, attending American Indian powwows and raising Horses and Cattle are just a few of the activities used to capture the true essence of Western Art and Cowboy Art.
The subjects depicted in L.C.‘s paintings are inspired by observing, sketching, and photographing Horses, Cowboys and Cowgirls, and American Indians. As a result, Cowboy Art, American Indian Art, and Horse Art flowed from the brush.
L.C. Herst focuses attention on the authenticity of tradition in Native American life and enthusiasm for depicting the Cowboys frontier.
Through Original Oil Paintings, Arizona artist Herst constantly reinvents Western Art with bold portrayals of Cowboys, Indians, and Horses with wild abandon, passion and enthusiasm.
Although well-known as a Southwest Contemporary Artist L.C. Herst’s genre includes Contemporary paintings such as bold Abstract Art Paintings , colorful Tuscan Art, Southwest Landscape Paintings, classical cars, Jazz themes, and Cityscapes.
In a masterful style, traditional subjects of Western Art, Tuscan Art and City scenes are infused with Abstract Art elements and vibrant color to create an exciting and rhythmic composition.
“My first love is Western Art and Cowboy Art. Having taught on Indian Reservations, Indian Art and American Indian Paintings are also high on my list. Looking out my window I see my Horses. Horse Art is my passion. I rode my Appaloosa Horse at cattle roundups and many trail rides across the Southwestern Landscape. Infusing my paintings with Abstract Art and design elements just seem to add to the excitement of creating the artwork. I play music in my studio and wonderful Tuscan Art and Cityscapes seem to leap from my brush.
While attending the Art Students League in New York City, I studied composition, Abstract Art Paintings, and figurative work with the masters. Experience in the big city enhanced my desire to paint; especially to express City Scenes and Cityscapes. There is a natural compulsion for me to paint what I observe and all aspects of City life, and Cityscapes added to my body of work. Giclees are also available in all sizes. Information on Giclees is available on this site.
Please enjoy this gallery of paintings, and feel free to email your comments, observations, remarks and if you need to, request further information about the art. My up-coming exhibits near Scottsdale, Arizona are listed on the “about the artist” page and the studio-gallery is open to visitors.”
