Many of L. C.'s pieces are inspired through her personal connection to the American Southwest. She draws a large part of her color selection and composition from what she observes from the world around her.

L C's overwhelming love of nature is evident in every painting she creates. The bold scale of her primary subjects .are superimposed on a surreal almost mystical landscape. Her extensive use of natural earth-tone color continues to be a recognized characteristic of L. C.'s work.

"Long horseback rides through the expansive wilderness throughout Arizona greatly influences my choices of color and how the light plays with hues and shadows. Fascinated by the depths and beauty of the natural world I return to my studio with mental notes and translate these observations in to layers of oils I use on the canvas."
