L.C. Herst constantly reinvents the American Southwest with her colorful portrayals and interpretations of various historical old west cowboy and Indian themes. Recognized for her bold and vibrant color palette this Arizonan has made a career out of painting mystical horses and historical renditions of Indian people of the American west.

Many of L. Cs oil paintings carefully blend old west subject matter such as cowboys, cowgirls, stagecoaches, horses, Indian powwows, and desert landscapes with impressionistic, abstract content; creating an interesting alliance between traditional cowboy art and modern contemporary art.

L.C. Herst is a self-taught oil painter who spends time at local ranches, riding horses, herding cattle, attending powwows and generally studying the natural wonders of the southwest.

Although well-known as a western artist L.C. can focus her artistic abilities on classical cars, jazz and abstract non-objective subjects as well as southwest wall art. Through the use of her energetic distinctive style this oil painter captures the atmosphere of a classical style with abstract and impressionistic elements.
